Since the beginning, The Black Range Naturalist has included articles under the general listing of “Tools of the Trade”. In this series, there is a substantial amount of information about equipment, research concepts, and field techniques. Other articles often include references to resource material and research tools.
Generally we have not included any type of assessment of particular tools or protocols in The Black Range Naturalist. In an age of misinformation we believe that is a deficiency. As of November 2024 we will start to address this shortcoming with reviews of equipment, protocols, and computing programs. To conform to our standards of fact-based unbiased material our reviews are free of vendor association. The review section will grow over time.
