Cooke’s Spring is one of the most important springs in the southwestern United States. The history of this spring is covered, as part of an extended discussion of Ft. Cummings.
The spring is now covered by a well house (photo right) and water does not appear to be available at the site. This spring is located near the Fort Cummings ruins, north of NM-26 on the east side of Cooke’s Peak/Massacre Peak.
