The range of the Steller’s Jay extends
from southern Alaska and British Columbia to Nicaragua.  
There are 17 recognized subspecies.
A mimic, it will sometimes make a call like a predator (e.g. Red-Tailed Hawk)
to frighten other birds away from a feeding area.
