The Hillsboro Historical Society states its mission as "to preserve, collect, and protect the history of Hillsboro, Kingston and the surrounding area, through the preservation of artifacts, documents, and photographs relating to their history.”  To that end, it maintains a museum, publishes a newsletter, and carries on various events of historical interest.  Visit their website at the link above and join the organization.  For a nominal annual fee you receive various benefits and the newsletter.

Ying's Rest

GUAJALOTES, ZOPILOTES, Y PAISANOS is the newsletter of the Hillsboro Historical Society.

The newsletter is posted on this site for your convenience (follow links in red).  We also provide a table of contents for each issue and an index to articles and authors.

The newsletter may be viewed as an online magazine on our bookcase (issues starting with Vol. 12, No. 4).

Harley Shaw has been the editor of the newsletter from the beginning.  The enormous amount of work he has put into the effort is matched only by the skill and knowledge which he has brought to the undertaking.

TO THE LEFT: Publications of the HHS followed by early photos from the area from our “Early Photos” gallery.
